PRIOR PROJECTS
Next
stop organized events both in Denmark and in
Serbia as well. The first informal contact had
been established in August 2000. Due to visa
problems, only a small number of Danish students
managed to get through. Guided tours in Belgrade,
Novi Sad, Guca, parties, concerts, conversations,
meetings with representatives of different NGO-s
were the opportunity for representatives of
different cultures to meet better and become
friends. Thanks to these acquaintances, which soon
become friendship, basis for future joint plans
and projects were set up. In November 2000,
preparations for Danish Film Festival had begun.
It had been realized month later with the help of
several organizations (Yugoslavia Film, Dom
Omladine, Yuffis, Otpor, SKC). At the same time
that had been the first step towards Serbian
broader public. The three-day festival represented
mutual action, aiming to bring the two cultures
together. Large number of visitors had the
opportunity not only to acknowledge Danish film
through the big screen, but also through direct
contacts with the artists, the guests of the film
festival.
In
March, 2001, a seminar in Copenhagen, which hosted
46 people from Serbia, was held. They were
welcomed by the same number of hosts from Denmark.
